Can we have a civil wedding?

Yes, we are licensed for a ceremony with up to 150 guests in the oval space of the barn. You must call and book the registrars yourselves. We are also licensed for outdoor ceremonies and have two fairy tale locations for you to choose from! See question below.

Can we have the ceremony outside?

After the change in rules in March 2022 we are delighted to offer outdoor ceremonies! We have two approved areas for you to choose from. You could get married down by our fairy bridge, a fairy tale location planted with wild roses overlooking a shallow country side stream. Or you could choose our Pendle view facing lawn, with hay bales and a picturesque view of Pendle hill. View our Instagram to see more!

Can we have a church wedding?

There are lots of churches local to The Out Barn so, if you choose to get married in a church, you can still use the barn for your reception, wedding breakfast and evening party. The nearest church to us is St Helen’s Church, in the stunning village of Waddington.

What is your closing time?

Unlike many venues closing at midnight, just when the party is really starting, here your hire period runs until 1.00 a.m. With bar last orders being 12:30am!

What is your dining capacity?

We can accommodate up to 150 seated guests in the oval area of the barn. Due to the oval design there are no corners, so weddings of lower numbers won’t make the barn look empty. The average number of wedding guests for us during the day is 80. However we are very much believers in more the merrier!

Can we invite additional evening guests?

There is room for an additional 100 guests in the evening (amounting to 250 guests in total), for drinks and dancing.

Do you have outdoor heaters?

We have outdoor fire pits for guests to keep warm (or toast marshmallows). As well as patio heaters under a covered porch.

Will the barn be warm?

Yes - the barn has eco-friendly, advanced underfloor heating from a Biomass boiler. We also allow real candles for that added atmosphere. Unpredictable English weather is something we are very accustomed to.

Do you have onsite accomodation?

The couple can stay in our stunning Old Dairy cottage on the night of their wedding. For other guests there is the 6 bedroom Farmhouse on site and there is plenty of excellent accommodation very nearby, so your guests can all stay within an easy distance from the barn.

What do we do about music?

There are several options for music. You are welcome to create your own playlists and share these with us (we have a state of the art Sonos sound system), you could have a string quartet playing on arrival, a live band, DJ, or go wild with a combination of the above.

Can we bring our own flowers and decorations?

The barn is yours for the day and you can decorate it as you wish. We do have lots of local suppliers that we can recommend who we have worked with many times without issue.

Can we use our own caterers?

We have six catering partners in which you must choose for your day catering. They all cater at the highest of standards and will work with you to put your ideas on a plate.

Do you have a wedding planning service?

Helping you plan and organise your day is a key part of what we do. We have a team of wedding planners & coordinators who will support you throughout the planning process and will be there on the day to make sure everything goes smoothly. We pride ourselves on our personalised approach and love to go the extra mile.

What happens if I need to cancel my event?

On rare occasions a client will need to cancel their event. We always recommend that you get wedding insurance in case of unforeseeable circumstances.
